How to Download & Print

Downloading Your eBook

After a successful payment, you'll receive an order confirmation email with a download link. Clicking this link downloads a .zip file containing your PDF eBook(s).

Why a ZIP file? We package your eBook as a ZIP to keep the file safe and complete during download. You just need to open (or "extract") it once — the steps below take under a minute.

Step-by-Step: Windows (PC)

  1. Open Downloads — Go to your Downloads folder, or click the downloaded file shown at the top-right of your browser.
  2. Open the folder — Double-click the downloaded .zip file. It opens like a regular folder, showing the PDF inside.
  3. Extract the PDF (recommended, for clean printing):
    • Click Extract all in the top menu bar (or right-click the file → Extract All...), then click Extract.
    • Shortcut for non-tech users: simply drag the PDF file out of the folder and drop it onto your Desktop.
  4. Print the PDF — Double-click the extracted .pdf file to open it, press Ctrl + P (or click the Printer icon), and select Print.

Step-by-Step: Mac (Apple)

  1. Open Downloads — Go to your Downloads folder, or click the Downloads icon in Safari.
  2. Automatic extraction — Double-click the .zip file. Your Mac automatically creates a regular folder right next to it, containing the PDF.
  3. Print the PDF — Double-click the PDF to open it in Preview, press Command (⌘) + P, and click Print.

Step-by-Step: Mobile (iPhone/iPad & Android)

Most parents download on desktop for the best printing experience, but here's how it works on mobile too:

iPhone / iPad:

  1. Tap the download link in your email — it downloads to your Files app (usually in the "Downloads" folder).
  2. Open the Files app, tap the .zip file — it automatically unzips into a folder with the PDF inside.
  3. Tap the PDF to open it, then tap the Share icon → Print, or use AirPrint if your printer supports it.

Android:

  1. Tap the download link — it saves to your Downloads folder (check via your Files app).
  2. Tap the .zip file; if it doesn't auto-extract, use a file manager app's built-in "Extract" or "Unzip" option (most Android file managers have this built in — no extra app needed).
  3. Open the extracted PDF and use the Print option from the menu (☰ or ⋮), or share it to a printer app.

Tip: For the best print quality, we recommend downloading on a computer (Windows or Mac) rather than a phone, especially for activity pages meant to be written or colored on.

Recommended Print Settings

For the crispest, most accurately-sized pages:

  • Paper size: A4 or Letter (matches your printer's default paper)
  • Scaling: Select "Actual Size" or "100%" — avoid "Fit to Page," which can shrink activity pages and affect tracing/writing exercises
  • Color: Print in color for the best experience (our books are designed with color in mind, though they print fine in black & white too)
  • Double-sided: We recommend single-sided printing so activities on the back of a page don't show through

Troubleshooting

"My ZIP file won't open." Most computers can open ZIP files with no extra software. If you see an error, try: right-click the file → "Open With" → choose your computer's built-in archive/extract tool. On very old Windows versions, a free tool like 7-Zip can help.

"The PDF won't open." Make sure you have a PDF reader installed. Every Mac comes with Preview built in; on Windows, PDFs usually open directly in your browser or in the free Adobe Acrobat Reader (available at get.adobe.com/reader).

"I can't find the download link." Check your order confirmation email — including your Spam/Promotions folder, in case it landed there. If you still can't locate it, email us at meghna.g@thedigitalkraftkids.com with your order number and we'll resend it.

"The pages look cut off when I print." This usually means your printer's scaling is set to something other than "Actual Size" / "100%." Adjust this in your print dialog before printing.
